New! You can find the Foresters of Mountain Freehold on Discord!

The Shire of Mountain Freehold has an active chapter of The East Kingdom Royal Foresters Guild. The Foresters Guild is for those persons who have an interest in outdoor living, journeying and survival in historic fashion. Royal Foresters are based on the medieval foresters that protected the forests of medieval England from outlaws and poachers. For SCA purposes we are organized as an Arts and Sciences guild that studies outdoor living, survival, and camping. Since its founding, the East Kingdom Foresters Guild has expanded to welcome and encompass many different time periods, cultures, and personas. The Forestry Guild is dedicated to research, recreation, education, and demonstration of historical tools, methods, equipment, and techniques for living, camping, traveling, and cooking in the outdoors or in wilderness locations. We welcome everyone with any interest in learning about camping and the outdoors. If you want to sit around a fire and cook over it, you’re a Forester. If you want to hike for days in the wilderness, you’re a Forester. If you want to look at cool plants along a trail at an event, you’re a Forester!
