Come traveler, sit and warm your weary bones, listen to the sounds of laughter and joy all around, and take in the aroma and taste of good food. These are the hallmarks of a good night at the Wassail Tavern.

Come join the Shire of Panther Vale and Mountain Freehold for the 2023/24 Yuletide Celebration and experience the grand opening of the Wassail Tavern! Join us on Dec. 30th from 2pm to 9 pm for a day of revelry and yuletide, classes demonstrations, bardic gatherings, and comfort of friends and chosen family to help relieve the cold and sometimes dreary times the winter months bring.

The  A&S Display this year will be a theme of Past and Present. Bring a past project, either the project itself or images/documentation of the project, along with anything you’ve been currently working on, incomplete or otherwise, to put on display.

As is tradition at these events, we’ll be having the gift exchange table. Bring clean, unwrapped items to place on the table. One item means you get to choose something on your turn!  How it works: You bring an item for the table. Before the night is out, we’ll have the gift exchange based on the number of years active in the SCA, starting with the newest and those in most need, finally working our way through the years until we reach those who were around when rocks were soft and trees were just twigs in the ground.

Adding on to this though, we will be having a  SEPARATE table for the younglings of the region. Parents may bring an additional item, separate from the gift exchange table, that would be of use to a child under 12 and their parents. This can be anything from garb that has been outgrown or tools, toys, or books a child may like, or a parent may find useful.
