A Vinland Norse Yule

Saturday, January 11th, 2025 – Barre, VT

Come visit the famed hospitality of the Vinland Norse to celebrate Yule in the Shires of Mountain Freehold and Panther Vale.  We will be running Norse era period games, dancing and music.  We will be proving a “Possible Feast” of what the Vinland Norse and local indigenous peoples could have prepared.  We will be having our annual Mathom Exchange, so please bring an SCA/Medieval item that you no longer need, for the table.  Come and enjoy our hospitality!

  • Notes from our Oct. 20, 2024 Business Meeting can be found here.
  • Sunday afternoon gatherings and practices are held at the Browns River Middle School, 20 River Road, in Jericho. (Cancellations will be posted to the Facebook group and the email list.) Heavy list practice will run from 2-5 unless it’s posted otherwise.  Fencing practice is on hold until the fall, unless we can persuade a marshal to attend – we’ll post if it’s going to happen. A&S folk, and general spectators, are welcome to attend and schmooze on the sidelines, and there are bleachers for this purpose. The entrance door varies, so try them all. We are required to protect the gym floor by bringing a pair of “inside” shoes with non-marking soles.
