Greetings, all! Mountain Freehold’s Birthday Bash will be held on Saturday Sept. 7th, from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm, at the Green Mountain Family Campground, address 4817 South Route 116, in Bristol, VT. We are marking our Shire’s 46th anniversary, so come and help us celebrate. All are most welcome.

We will hold some of our Shire Championships. Confirmed so far is Archery, Thrown Weapons, and Heavy List. Fencing and A&S will be held at practice or another event in the future.

Dayboard will be potluck style. The Kelpie cooks will be providing a few main dish items and will provide a sign-up sheet shortly.

Bring your current A&S projects to display, even if you aren’t entering the competition. Bring armor, weapons and fencing gear so you can play with others! Don’t forget your Feast Gear & chairs for sitting (there are limited picnic tables/benches).

Each of the shire’s guilds will also have either a display or class/discussion options to show everything our local shire has going on!

Merchanting, bartering and giveaways are welcome. (Please take unclaimed items back home with you when you leave.) Please bring your own tables. We will also be holding an silent auction to raise money for the shire’s treasury – details to come.

The campgrounds offer multiple hiking trails that vary in difficulty (so take a look at the trail maps before wandering).

If anybody wants to put up a pop-up tent near the pavilion, that is allowed. There’s a flat grassy area for tourneys and lawn games.

Please help make this event run smoothly! There’s a sign-up sheet for setup, cleanup, heralding, and gate/gold key here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4DABAA2DA5F9CF8-50650042-birthday#/

(A note about directions: If you’re coming from the north – Route 116 makes a 90 degree turn to the south, on the west side of Bristol town. Do not continue west on Route 17.)

Cost: Donation Based

Site rules: Friendly pets are allowed on leash only.
* Drinking is allowed, PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE! No one leaves the site driving drunk – if you plan on drinking, please be sure to have a designated driver, or alternatively, you can pay an additional fee to stay the night (camp; bring your tent). If you plan on staying the night, you will need to arrange this on your own, well ahead in advance, as this will NOT be part of Birthday Bash.
* Smoking is permitted outside, as long as people clean up their butts. Absolutely NO SMOKING in the bathrooms and shower rooms.
* Absolutely NO OUTSIDE TRASH IN THE BATHROOMS. We do not want to encourage wild life to find their way into the bathrooms.
* There are no kitchens available, however, there are multiple fire pits, and a pig BBQ at our disposal, if we need it.
* There are limited chairs (25) and small round tables (12) inside the pavilion. We may need to bring a couple awning/pop-up shelters, and additional tables and chairs, for either A&S displays, the auction items, or to help seat people for dinner. PLEASE bring an extra table, chair or pop-up if you can
* Be sure to clean up after ourselves, put garbage and recycling in the appropriate places.
* There is a play structure and area for children; the pools will be closed.
* There are running water bathrooms and shower rooms we can use (again, please keep those areas clean), and coin-operated laundry machines. There is also an outdoor sink that has potable water.
* Wheelchair access is somewhat limited, and the bathroom stalls do not have a wheelchair accessible stall, unfortunately.
