Date: Saturday Sept. 25, 11-5 (cleaned up and off site by 6, it’ll be dark by 6:30.)
Location: Ethan Allen Homestead in Burlington’s Intervale – OUTSIDE in the large and well-equipped picnic shelter. (Note that we may use the grounds, but we may not enter the building we used last time for Fool’s Feast.) We are allowed to erect pop-up tents as long as the stakes are less than 6 inches long.
Food provided: Pot-luck dayboard; please bring whatever you like. No kitchen is available, but there are some electrical outlets for crockpots. There is a water fountain and tap, but it is not feasible to wash dishes – please bring a plastic bag for your dirty feast gear.
Championships: We traditionally select some of our Shire Champions at this event, but the heavy-listers have decided to postpone, and I believe the others have as well.
Cost: By donation. There will be a sign-in table, and the donation jar will be on it.
Site rules: No glass containers, no kegs, dogs must be on leashes, carpool if you can because parking is limited. Max capacity 65 in the picnic shelter. Please bring home any trash you might generate (sorry, the park won’t deal with our leavings!) Current SCA rules require that masks be worn by all.
Parking: Follow signs to the site. You may drop things off near the picnic shelter and then park. The access road makes a “loop” by the picnic shelter and parking inside the loop is allowed, but we’d like to reserve that for people who have trouble walking longer distances. Most parking will be alongside the access road, nose-to-tail style. If that fills, there’s overflow parking near the entrance to the Homestead. Please don’t park in the lot directly in front of the museum, since that is reserved for regular park visitors.
Autocrat – Yours truly, Marieke (with the assistance of a multitude of cheerful volunteers, as always!)
